Self loading concrete mixer Carmix delivered to Texas!

Past year has brought all of us a lot of difficulties and uncertainties, many different industries were hugely affected by the pandemic, and probably the construction industry was among the first to take the hit.

All major construction trade shows around the world were cancelled, as well as most of the major construction projects around the country were postponed.

2021 brought positive news to the industry and among the first signs of recovery we saw the World of Concrete trade show come back to Las Vegas in June 2021! Of course it was much smaller than what we are used to as a lot of foreign companies were not able to make it due to international travel restrictions.

Carmix was proud to be among the exhibitors and to continue introducing the concept of self loading, mobile concrete mixer to contractors and concrete industry professionals from all across USA.

During the 3 days that WOC went on for, we saw a lot of interest from various industry professionals and were able to realise that this concept is still new and not very common across the United states.

It was a very positive experience to be able to explain and show operating principles of this extraordinary self loading concrete mixer in person to so many people.

It might seem difficult at first, but in its essence, the machine is very straightforward, simple, yet extremely reliable and well suited for the tough conditions it is going to be operated in.

Among multiple presentations that we held during the WOC trade show, we met a number of potential clients from all the corners of the country, each of them with their own unique challenges.

A company from Michigan was faced with a problem of concrete production during late autumn/early winter in a remote location and with temperatures dropping to 25°F.
Thanks to our experience and technical specifications of Carmix we were able to offer them a solution that will allow the client to produce up to 8yd3 of high quality concrete per hour at their jobsite.

Another company from Oregon was searching for a solution to producing around 100yd3 of concrete at a remote jobsite in the woods, where concrete mixers can`t get without serious hazard of overturning on slippery and windy forest roads. Carmix will not only be able to cover client’s demand in concrete, but also will lower the cost of every cubic yard of concrete by at least 30% and with extraordinary off-road capabilities, even the toughest roads do not pose any problems for Carmix.

One particular customer from Seattle, Washington showed interest in Carmix as he is planning to open an office in Waco, Texas to avoid unnecessary expenses related to transportation of his products all the way from Seattle to Texas, Lusianna and New Mexico.

At the time of our meeting, the client already found a production site in Waco Texas and was in the process of preparing the site for his production process. Carmix was chosen as a source of concrete and mortar for the production facility. About a week after WOC ended, we signed a contract and organised delivery of brand new Carmix 3500TC to our new client in Texas. 

Carmix 3500TC is an all-wheel drive concrete mixer with self-loading function. It has a high performance (more than 100 yd3 per shift) and is optimally suited for construction of large and medium-sized projects, high-rise buildings, monolithic structures, as well as for the manufacture of ready-mixed concrete. The volume of the mixing drum is 1281 gal., the loading bucket with a hydraulic damper – 158 gal. Mobile concrete plant loads aggregates and kneads concrete of the desired specs according to a given mix design. Stability and manoeuvrability allow CARMIX 3500TC to drive into hard-to-reach places that a conventional concrete mixer cannot reach.

Carmix travelled 1300 miles on a step decks trailer over 3 days. It is quite easy to transport Carmix as it`s dimensions allow transportation on a standard step deck without any additional permits. The highest point of Carmix in transport mode is 10 feet and 4 inches and the weight is 16,314lb.

Carmix is also D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) approved for road use with some limitations (i.e. highway use). For a short distance of 10-15 miles, it is not a problem to drive Carmix by itself. 

After the self loading concrete plant arrived at Waco TX, our technical specialist flew over to commission the machine and show how to properly operate and service it.

It took only a couple of hours to show how the machine works and how to set up the weighing system for a specific type of product. After a couple of test runs, the future operator of Carmix was able to easily run the full loading-unloading cycle by himself. 

The other important part of the education process is to show the operator how to properly service the machine. As carmix is working with highly abrasive materials, especially cement and particles of cement dust stick to rotating parts of the machine, it is very important to keep certain elements well greased, especially everything located around the front of the machine where loading of materials takes place.

We also recommend keeping the machine clean as concrete tends to build up and it is very difficult to clean it when it gains it`s full strength. Carmix is equipped with an on board high pressure washing system which makes the cleaning process at the end of every working shift easy and hassle free!  

Client is planning to start full operation of the facility in a couple of weeks and we will keep a close look on the development of the client’s project in case he will need any further assistance or advice. We believe it is extremely important not only to deliver a high quality machine, but to make sure it is used to it`s full capacity as in the end of the day, client’s satisfaction with the whole Carmix experience is our main goal!
