Applications of CARMIX concrete mixers

Concrete manufacture

In order to produce concrete, Carmix mixer requires only aggregate materials: sand, gravel, cement, water. As soon as Carmix arrives at the construction site, it is ready to start to work immediately. Concrete mixer can easily handle the mixing of any concrete grade. Recipes can be easily set in the onboard computer with a memory of up to 100 different mix designs, strain gauges allow you to control the amount of loaded materials for accurate compliance with the mix design.

Model 5.5XL can produce up to 170 cubic yards of ready-mix concrete per shift. The advantage of the concrete mixer is that it does not require special permits for organization of work, as for opening a plant, and additional equipment (such as loaders). One operator can easily handle the entire cycle – from loading of aggregates to unloading finished mixture. Movement speed of CARMIX is relatively slow, so it will be rational to place aggregates near the pouring area.

Manufacture of masonry mortar

Carmix is capable of producing concrete and cement mortar for masonry. The main difference between mortar and concrete is the absence of coarse aggregate – crushed rock. Cement mortar consists of cement and sand. When water is added, the cement is activated. While concrete can be used on its own, cement mortar is used to bind bricks, stones, or other building materials together. Cement mortar is most often used when constructing brick buildings.

There are secrets in preparation of mortar for masonry – reliability, durability and stability depend on compliance with proportions. Mobile batching plant can easily cope with recipe of a mortar without crushed rock. You need just to specify the required proportions and smart Carmix computer will easily calculate amount of materials for production of 1.3 cubic yards or a full drum. If you follow the exact proportions and have confidence in the quality of the components used, you are guaranteed to get a first-class cement mortar.

Concrete pouring, Pile structure

All models of Carmix mobile concrete mixers with self-loading are ideal for pile foundation construction. Pile foundation is required when erecting buildings on problematic soils.
Often the piles are cast-in-place and filled with a concrete mix. The frame for the pile is delivered to the construction site and installed on the site, and then filled with concrete. Concrete grade 5075 psi is used most often. Pouring piles with concrete at the construction site significantly reduces the cost of transportation.

It is important that concrete grade specified in the project documentation is used when pouring the piles, because the strength of the future structure depends on it. Concrete mixture must be fluidity to ensure that the pile frame is poured without voids. Carmix is able to provide fresh concrete with good fluidity of concrete. In addition, the maneuverability of Italian concrete mixers will help unload the mixture without unnecessary time expenditure. 3.5TT and 3500TC models with a 300-degree rotating drum help reduce pouring time.

Reinforced concrete products production

It is optimal to use model 3500TC for reinforced concrete production, which allows you to produce up to 16 cubic yards cubic meters of concrete per hour.

Agricultural construction

Agricultural facilities (hangars, granaries, warehouses) are often built far from big cities, where there are no concrete factories nearby and delivery of concrete mix can be very expensive. In addition, there are no guarantees that during delivery concrete will not lose fluidity and will be suitable for casting. In this case, Carmix can help you. It is enough to bring aggregates, and the mobile concrete plant produces high quality concrete mix right at site. Carmix does not require mounting and installation, it is ready to start working immediately after delivery to the construction site.

There are special requirements for granaries and warehouses for agricultural products. Materials from which the buildings are developed must be strong and durable, fire and explosion-proof. In addition, they must ensure environmentally friendly storage. That is why concrete is used as a floor covering.

Oil and gas construction

Concrete mixers successfully operate in the oil and gas fields. They are involved in general construction works, including pouring foundations for various projects, pouring piles, and construction of roads on the territory of the oil-fields. Since the fields are located at a distance from the concrete plants, to ensure timely delivery of concrete, it is recommended to build your own concrete batching plant (CBP).

Construction in mountainous terrain

The terrain in the mountains dictates its own conditions for construction. It is simply impossible for a conventional mixer to overcome steep climbs and narrow turns without spilling concrete or overturning. In addition, it is not easy to deliver concrete mix on mountain roads, keeping its fluidity and remoldability. However, Carmix easily copes with such a task. Concrete mixer can climb inclines of up to 30 degrees with a full drum load. Carmix makes concrete directly at the construction site, independently moving between aggregate storage locations. A crab walk allows the machine to drive right up to the place of unloading. Such models as 3.5TT and 3500TC are equipped with a swiveling drum, which provides concrete unloading at 300 degrees.

Ordinary tasks in the mountains are made more difficult by the topography. For example, pouring the foundation of a small building may require almost 262 cubic yards of concrete – to level it in height. Support walls can be up to 164 ft long and 10-13 ft high in the mountains.

Subway and railroad construction

Concrete is indispensable in subway and railroad tracks construction. Most often precast concrete is used, but sometimes it is monolithic. Compact Carmix mixers fit easily into tunnels and can both produce and pour concrete inside the aisle. Operation in confined spaces requires installation of additional filters on the exhaust system to prevent harm to human health. For tunnel work, Carmix is equipped with exhaust gas catalysts that absorb harmful elements. Carmix models 25FX and CARMIX ONE are ideal for tunnel operation.

Tunnel construction

Concrete is used for supporting structures in the construction of tunnels. It is possible to build them both from monolithic concrete and from prefabricated reinforced concrete products. When building tunnels, it can be a challenge to get the concrete inside. Carmix concrete mixers are well suited for such tasks. They can produce concrete not only on-site in tunnel or at tunnel entrance, but their height makes them easy to drive in and allow to dump concrete at the desired location. Carmix 2.5TT, 25FX and CARMIX ONE models are ideal for working in tunnels.

Bank stabilization

Concrete and concrete structures are often used for bank stabilization. They are subject to higher requirements, because they must provide resistance to the aggressive action of the marine environment. For this reason, concrete must be frost-resistant and watertight. This is achieved by means of admixtures that improve the quality of concrete. Carmix can be equipped with additive tanks to increase the accuracy of dosage and convenience. Carmix can easily cope with the pouring of monolithic coastal fortifications, the construction of mooring walls, piers, breakwaters, and is also capable of manufacturing precast concrete products (tetrapods, etc.) to strengthen the shore. Such products are quite bulky, so their delivery from the workshop can cause difficulties and unnecessary expenditures. In the future, Carmix can participate in construction of coastal infrastructure and repair work on the shore.
